There are several things to consider when buying these multi color silk shirts. Especially dark black, red or blue with whitee inserts. Please read the care label carefully before purchasing. Some of them are "dry clean only", some are "machine washable" and others allow "dry clean or wash." Remember, all good dry cleaners must be experts at laundering. Dry cleaning only removes some grease and oils. Most stains are water based and can't be removed by dry cleaning alone. These stains are either removed by spot cleaning or laundering.

Dry Clean Only Shirts:
Most of these shirts can be safely cleaned without the dark color bleeding into the white areas. However, lesser quality brands can have this problem. When this happens, it can't be easily fixed. Also, if there are many food and beverage stains on the shirt, they can not be easily removed. They are water-based and will not come out in the dry cleaning process. Spot cleaning and wet cleaning will be necessary and can cause the colors to bleed because they are not the recommended process by the manufacturer. You may ssked to sign a release by your dry cleaner to proceed with these methods of stain removal because of the risk involved.

Machine Washable Silks:
are better at removing stains that come from food or beverages. The colors usually do not bleed during the laundering or the stain removal. These shirts tend to shrink slightly and we recommend buyer a larger size to account for this. The texture of these shirts will not be as soft after laundering.

Shirts That Can Be Both Drycleaned or Washed Are The Best!
The manufacturers are allowing you to dry clean for soft feel and wash when necessary to remove stains that will not come out in the dry cleaning. We also recommend buying a larger size to account for shrinkage in the laundering process.
